Key strengths

  • 3000 × 1500 mm working area for large sheets
  • Speed up to 170 m/min for high productivity and short lead times
  • Nesting optimisation to reduce scrap
  • Programming from your DXF/DWG files

Why choose FDM

We coordinate this process within a complete production cycle: that means fewer suppliers, faster lead times and quality controlled at every stage, from prototype to series.

The laser cutting process, step by step

We manage the entire sheet metal laser cutting flow in-house, from receiving the CAD file to delivering the parts: a controlled process that ensures repeatability and consistent edge quality from a single prototype to large series.

  1. 1 · CAD import & nesting

We import the customer's DXF/DWG files and optimise nesting on the sheet to reduce scrap and lower material cost.

  2. 2 · Parameter set-up

We set power, assist gas and speed based on material and thickness for a clean edge with a minimal heat-affected zone.

  3. 3 · 6000 W fibre cutting

The TruLaser 3030 Fiber cuts at up to 170 m/min across a 3000 × 1500 mm area, ensuring consistent precision batch after batch.

  4. 4 · Quality control

We check dimensions, cut squareness and edge finish before moving on to bending or welding.

Tolerances and cut quality

The combination of a fibre source, latest-generation optics and process control lets us hold tight tolerances and clean edges across a wide range of materials and thicknesses.

Typical dimensional tolerance

Applications and sectors

Precision laser cutting is the starting point of most of our contract work: it provides semi-finished parts ready for bending, welding and assembly in the most demanding industrial sectors.

  • Components and structures for the railway sector
  • Frames, brackets and sheet parts for industrial machinery
  • Stainless steel parts for the food and medical sectors
  • Panels, covers and aesthetic aluminium components
  • Rapid prototypes and small high-precision runs

Laser cutting is integrated into our complete cycle of contract metal fabrication: a single partner from cutting to certified welding, with fewer suppliers and shorter lead times.

Frequently asked questions

Which thicknesses and materials can you laser cut?

With the 6000 W TruLaser 3030 Fiber we cut structural steel up to 22 mm, stainless steel up to 20 mm, aluminium up to 20 mm and copper and brass up to 8 mm.

What sheet sizes can you handle?

The 3000 × 1500 mm working area allows machining of large sheets, offering maximum production flexibility.

Can I send my CAD files for a quote?

Yes, we program directly from DXF/DWG files and optimise nesting to reduce scrap and cost.

Do you handle both prototypes and large series?

Yes, thanks to speeds up to 170 m/min and high load handling the system suits both single prototypes and large high-precision production runs.
